Photo Shoot for My Book – Part 2

Yesterday was the second shoot of my book SUPERSIZE STITCHES which is due out in September this year…  it was rather fabulous to have a jaunt out of the office, and watch a team of lovely talented people making my stitched creations look fab.

The photographer RUSSELL SADUR made it all look so easy – and the stylist ALICE KING had bags and bags of delightful prop goodies, which made everything look so pretty.

The first shoot was in Queens Park (London), but the house yesterday in Crouch End (nr Alexander Palace) was a gem – and Andy and Sue made us all feel very welcome.

I cant at the moment share any of the finished shots, but I did take a couple of ‘snaps’ of behind the scene action..

 

New Colours of Paper Straws

Our Stripey Paper Straws have been sent far and wide since we launched them last year!.. and our collection has just got bigger with 5 new colours (as demanded by you) arriving next week… Chocolate Brown (perfect with our pastel pink), Navy Blue (in time for the Jubilee), Purple (just because you asked), Black (for your dark side) and Green (for our eco chic customers).

We love them all – and they add a little something to our current super bright rainbow…

We will be adding more new trial colours in the next couple of months – and will also be launching a bespoke colour service for our larger trade / catering customers

We are lucky that our nostalgic paper decorations have featured in lots of press since their launch early last year…  But we have been also rather busy working with lots of tv/film people on nostalgic look events. This has involved working with bespoke colours, looks or themes and I have to say we have thoroughly enjoyed the process.

The only downside is waiting to see when the item may pop up on the telly … and who or what is involved.!

Last year we were contacted by a company working on a new production which had a working title of “Midwives”… and we were thrilled to see the results finally air last week – as CALL THE MIDWIFE at 8pm on Sunday on BBC1.  The team used 60 of our streamers (in a our special order lemon and ivory colours) in the East End wedding scene with Miranda Hart.

You too can have a nostalgic event using our decorations … but perhaps without the added ‘washing on a line’ look!

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

60 years ago today, on the 6th February 1952 Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne.  Her coronation was held on the 2nd June and 2012 marks her Diamond Jubilee (only Queen Victoria before her has celebrated a reign this long).  Over the weekend of 2-4th June there is an extra bank holiday and a number of national events and celebrations to mark this national occasion.

We are proud to be British at Pearl and Earl and of course ‘love a good do’ – so have created a collection of Jubilee Decorations and items to help you celebrate this great event…  whether it is a little tea party or big street party – we have patriotic designs to suit your budget.

More new gift tape…

Today at Pearl and Earl HQ we had another delivery of our best selling gift tape … exclusively designed by us it has been a real hit with our customers this Christmas.

One of the latest designs uses some of our favourite fonts to make a super long version of our NO PEEKING TAPE.  Available in both red and green – we think it is great all year round for your present wrapping stash.

The tapes spice up the simplest kraft paper bags or paper wrappings … and we took this picture today of our tapes next to a normal sellotape so you can see just how generous they are at 66 meters long!  The normal magic tape or washi tape is less than 10m.

We are currently finalising our collection for next year – so what would you like to see on a tape?

Our Record Breaking Monday Stack

Today the elves at Pearl and Earl HQ took a few minutes to celebrate a record breaking week for us last week.  We are only a small business with a limited supply of Santa Helpers – and we managed to ship well over 1500 orders last week!..

It meant that faithful printer (only a year old) gained a new friend last week… in the form of a new internet printer that means we can print and do lots of online stuff via our ‘handhelds’ from the stock rooms.  Including chat to you on HQ help!

Here’s a pic snapped this morning of the first print run this week…  and today is Cyber Monday so we know we have 2 more challenging weeks to make sure you all get your Christmas goodies!

Coffee is brewing ….  think we will need it!

Supersize Shipments

We have had a bumper season at Pearl and Earl this year, and the popularity of our Bespoke Art prints  is still as strong as ever.

This year though everyone seems to have gone Supersize.. which is a whopping 1mx75cm version of our art prints!  We loved this print that shipped last week that was a supersize version of our destination blind life story in white.  It is nice to do other colours of the prints for people – rather than the standard black which is now much copied, since we first launched them in 2008.
